The New Berlin Soap Box Derby Commission invites your participation in the

61st ANNUAL NEW BERLIN SOAP BOX DERBY

Race day is Sunday, September 13th, 2026

New Berlin residents between the ages of 6 and 16 can design, build, and race their own cars down our 1,000-foot long, 3-lane, paved track. Cars are sponsored by local businesses, as well as by businesses and race fans from around the United States. Finalists in each class compete for trophies, great prizes, and a chance to win the coveted "Champion of Champions" award.

Online registration is once again available this year.

Everyone is encouraged to register online!

These rules and specifications show how to build your car, there's a suggested materials list, and explains the rules for running of the event.

On race day, each driver...

• receives a special Derby t-shirt,
• gets their photo taken with their car, and
• gets a minimum of four runs down the track.

CONTEST CLOSES AUGUST 17, 2026

ELIGIBILITY: To compete in the New Berlin Soap Box Derby Queen contest, you must be a female between the ages of 6 and 16 years, inclusive, with a birthday as of August 1st, 2026, and be a resident of the City of New Berlin or the daughter or female dependent of a New Berlin Soap Box Derby Commission member.

THE WINNER: The Queen will receive a trophy and prizes, and participate in ceremonies during the 56th annual New Berlin Soap Box Derby races. This year's event will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at our track in Valley View Park, 5150 S. Small Rd. The Queen may also represent the Derby in the New Berlin 4th of July parade and other public events.

DEADLINE: Entries must be received by August 17th, 2026.
